Franck Schuurmans, a Principal at DSI, brings intellectual rigor and passion for metamorphoses to deliver results to his clients that push boundaries. “To be brief, I’m a thinker and a teacher. This means I work tirelessly to drive senior executives to the edge of what they believe is possible for themselves and their businesses, and then I show them how to get there. Usually, we have a little fun along the way.”
An expert in strategic planning, decision-making, innovation and corporate governance, Franck is a highly published and sought after speaker at conferences and meetings throughout North America and Europe. He is a frequent guest lecturer at the Aresty Institute of Executive Education at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and Duke Executive Education Programs. He also teaches at The European Centre for Executive Development (CEDEP) at INSEAD in Paris, one of Europe’s leading business schools.
Franck’s corporate engagements include large-scale strategy and executive development projects with clients like Royal Bank of Scotland, Selective Insurance, Lincoln Financial Group, Pfizer–Europe, Heijmans Vastgoed, National Business Travel Associations (NBTA) and numerous Canadian and USA credit unions (e.g. Chevron, United Nations FCU, Navy CU etc.)
Franck earned his teaching stripes as a Professor of Modern European History at the University of Wisconsin where he was a full-time faculty member and passionate researcher. His executive leadership experiences, namely with Madison-based CUES, cemented his ability to lead and manage complex, learning organizations.
Franck received his MA from the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. As a Fulbright Fellowship recipient, he earned a Ph.D. in Modern European History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1995.
